Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Water Purifier 1000G. The device, which the company recommends you install under your kitchen sink, can filter up to 2.65 L (~90 fl. oz) of water per minute. The gadget can fill a 150 ml glass with water in 3.5 seconds.

The water purifier has a six-stage filter, including a folded PP cotton filter to remove large particles like sediment and a long-acting scale inhibitor to reduce the amount of calcium and magnesium in the water. Plus, the filter has two carbon rods to remove carbon and improve the water’s taste.

The reverse osmosis (RO) membrane filters out heavy metals and bacteria. Xiaomi claims that this can last for up to five years. The water is processed repeatedly to ensure it does not become stale.

The gadget has a four cavity bass pump designed to operate quietly so as not to disturb you. A smart screen on the faucet can tell you the water quality with data such as the TDS value. Alongside this, the screen can flag any errors and alert you when the filter needs to be replaced.

Alternatively, you can view your water quality stats in the Mijia app, where you can also buy replacement filters with one click. You can now pre-order the Mijia Water Purifier 1000G in China for 2,299 yuan (~US$361). It is unclear whether or when the device could be available in other countries.
