The collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica is now official; a new phone might be released soon.

We previously indicated that a possible collaboration between Xiaomi and camera firm Leica was in the works.

Xiaomi has now verified these reports in an official press release, and according to the company’s article, we may be seeing a new smartphone shortly.

The strings discovered explicitly alluded to photo-editing filters, with some of these filters bearing the Leica brand name.

Xiaomi and Leica are collaborating on an ‘imaging flagship’ that will be released in July.

Xiaomi has partnered with Leica to develop camera technology for its flagship phones.

In July, the first Xiaomi-Leica “imaging flagship” will be released.

Today, rumors of a prospective Xiaomi-Leica collaboration were verified. Its camera technology has been used in Chinese OEM phones since the P9 debuted in 2016.

“We are confident that the first jointly developed imaging flagship smartphone demonstrates both companies’ pioneering progress.”

Xiaomi revealed in a Facebook post that it had worldwide strategic cooperation in imaging technology.

Xiaomi said that it would collaborate with Leica to create a “legendary image and innovative technology” After Panasonic, Huawei, and Sharp, the brand’s newest image cooperation with a mobile company will be with Xiaomi.

According to Leaker Digital Chat Station, the anticipated Xiaomi 12 Ultra may be the first to incorporate Leica-enhanced optics.

Xiaomi and Leica collaborate on ‘Imagery Technology’

Xiaomi recently dropped a major bomb on its social media platforms, revealing a collaboration with famed camera manufacturer Leica.

Xiaomi and Leica said on their official blog that this is a long-term collaboration.

The collaboration might propel Xiaomi into even more premium territory, putting it in a position to fight against Apple and Samsung in general.

According to Gizmochina, the Huawei and Leica collaboration will end with the P50 series in 2021.

Since 2015, Huawei Consumer Business Group and Leica Camera AG have collaborated closely.

Xiaomi and Leica have formally announced a new long-term collaboration, perhaps signaling the end of the latter’s exclusive alliance with Huawei.

In connection with the introduction of their alliance, both businesses stated that a new smartphone equipped with Leica photographic technology would be released in July of this year.

At the moment, neither Xiaomi nor Leica are providing any further information on their new product, with the only clue towards its new darling being the poster attached to the official news statement.

The collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica is unusual, but not all that surprising. Again, before the announcement, Leica had a lengthy partnership with Huawei, the other big Chinese smartphone company.
